There is always something worth being grateful for.
We are all in social isolation. Last year I became a digital nomad and now I don’t know when I’ll be able to continue my journey. I miss people on the other side of the Planet with no real answers when we will be able to meet in person again. I recently lost my grandpa (it wasn’t COVID-19, just so you know). There were only 6 family members at the funeral and it looked so different. We all go through challenges in the current situation. No matter how big or how small they seem, we all face them. Yet, I want to focus on the positives and what I am grateful for, despite the challenges.
🔹I’m grateful for being with my mom at this difficult time. She is a phenomenal woman and I’m happy that I can support her to the best of my abilities.
🔸I’m grateful for having amazing people in my life with whom I can chat, even if it’s online.
🔹I’m grateful for all the animals I meet and have yet to meet on my way. It doesn’t matter if it’s a dog, cat, squirrel running around, tiger or a goat! Animals were always my biggest love and my source of joy. They bring a smile to my face and that’s the biggest gift.
🔸I’m grateful for embracing minimalist lifestyle and considering how much value will bring any of my purchase. I consider pollution, I give away unnecessary things and I learned to not need much. I continue to see benefits of this lifestyle not only for me but for the whole Planet.
🔹I’m grateful that the Planet is healing without our activity. This one makes me very happy! I don’t want to stress the Planet with my desires and I know that I've done it in the past. For me, it’s not about stopping for example travel altogether. There are so many benefits of travelling but maybe we could choose public transportation more often? Maybe we could limit how we go around? When I travelled, I believe I took too many flights. I didn’t plan it well enough. However, I walked as much as I could and I didn’t feel the urge that I have to see everything. For me, travel is not about crossing all of the “must-sees”. We don’t have to do any of this. I found my own way, which I think is more planet-friendly. I stayed at someone’s house and took care of their pets. It allowed me to experience living in that place like a local. I was only sightseeing when I had a few hours off. I didn’t feel I’m missing out on anything though. It’s not a race, it’s about enjoying what you have and feeling good about yourself in it 😊
🔸Travel for me is a journey within. Loving very simple moments and not only the big ones. I know that it changed me and made me a better person for the whole planet. I'll be forever grateful and I will continue my journey when I can.
What are you grateful for?
